Square (SQ) is set to report Q1 results tonight after the close with a conference call to follow at 5pm ET.
Current Capital IQ consensus stands at EPS of $0.08 on Revenues of $479 mln; SQ guidance for the quarter was EPS in the range of $0.06-0.08 on Revenues between $472-482 mln.
An update to FY19 guidance is expected. Current outlook is for EPS between $0.74-0.78 on Revenues in the range of $2.22-2.25 bln.
SQ is expected to provide Q2 guidance. Current Capital IQ consensus stands at EPS of $0.18 on Revenue of $555 mln.
Square is coming off a disappointing Q4.
SQ beat by a penny and beat on revenues but not by much. Payment volume (total dollar amount of card payments that flow through the sellers and P2P platform) come in short of expectations at $23 bln, +28% y/y and a steady decline in growth over the past couple of quarters.
